Prepares and teaches 24 credit hours in Forensic Science and related areas. Specific courses could be CSI Techniques, Fingerprints, Footwear, Blood Spatter, Firearms and Digital Photography. Maintains currency in academic field(s) of expertise. Engages in professional development activities and assists in curriculum and program development. Fosters and engages in collegial relations with the community. Involves undergraduate students in research. Represents the department and the school at professional meetings and conferences. Provides an open, student-centered, discrimination free classroom environment. Experience in the examiner or generalist area of Forensic Science is desired. Emphasis will be placed on competence in teaching crime scene investigation techniques, collecting, developing, preserving, and examining fingerprints and palmprints, and impression evidence.
Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal, earned degree appropriate to discipline. ABD accepted. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university. Must have extensive knowledge and experience in Forensic Science including Crime Scene Investigation, and Fingerprint Examination Techniques.
Extensive knowledge and experience in Forensic Science including Crime Scene Investigation, Fingerprint Examination Techniques, Digital Photography and Photoshop Expertise, Firearms Examination Techniques, Questioned Document Examination Techniques, and Blood Spatter Techniques.
Knowledge and experience teaching at a university level.
Knowledge and experience regarding laboratory work, including safety and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of educational evaluation techniques and practices.
Knowledge of statistics related to student outcomes and data analysis.
Excellent teaching skills in Forensic Science
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Effective interpersonal relations skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.
Ability to effectively use technology to enhance instruction, communicate with peers, and manage courses.
Ability to implement engaged learning community in your course curriculum.
