The Divisional Dean Nursing provides instructional leadership and administration to the Associate Degree Nursing program and the Certified Nursing Assistant program. This Academic Affairs position works collaboratively with all areas of the college to facilitate student success. Responsibilities include planning, staffing, developing, implementing, coordinating, promoting and assessing the program and related services to support a positive learning environment. The Divisional Dean supervises full time and adjunct faculty and support staff, as appropriate, at multiple locations. Therefore, this position can be based at any one of the WITC campus locations in Ashland, New Richmond, Rice Lake, or Superior with frequent traveling between locations.
*Collaborate with students, faculty, and administration to design, document, promote, implement, assess, monitor, and continually improve programming and learning processes.
*Facilitate completion of student program and general studies outcomes and assessment.
*Mediate student/faculty and student issues in conjunction with student services.
*Collaborate with Continuing Education to provide facilities, equipment, and staff for contracting and non-credit offerings.
*Schedule courses in an efficient and effective manner collaborating with faculty, staff, student program, and campus needs.
*Champion and provide leadership of the “one-college” concept in all areas of instruction.
*Hire, orient, coach, empower, and assess ongoing development of full-time and adjunct faculty and staff at multiple locations in alignment with the goals of the college.
*Provide direction and actively mentor faculty in the use of effective teaching methodologies.
*Facilitate program and course assessment processes for assigned areas of responsibility.
*Communicate, disseminate and ensure compliance with college policies/procedures and state and federal laws.
*Develop and manage planning and budgeting, grants/projects and other resources in assigned areas.
*Communicate clearly with faculty and deans within and across divisions to ensure effective college wide operations and consistency.
*Oversee curriculum development and modification for programs in collaboration with the curriculum office.
*Actively participate in campus, regional, college-wide, and state teams and committees.
*Promote dialogue with secondary and post-secondary institutions regarding articulation and programming options.
*Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations and agencies.
1. Master’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Administration.
2. Two years (4,000 hours) occupational Nursing experience outside of education.
3. Two years (full-time equivalency) teaching experience required.
4. Two years supervisory experience preferred.
