Detailed Job Description
The eLearning Production Specialist - Video Producer / Videographer / Editor will report to Assistant Director for eLearning, and be responsible for leading Miami University in the creation of a top tier eLearning video production studio. S/he produces, shoots and edits footage according to scripts, storyboards or loose guidelines. The Production Specialist will work closely with the Asst. Director for eLearning to set-up the studio, identify and document best practices, and establish video production workflows, style book and branding.
35% Video Production
Light and shoot e-Learning productions and interviews on- and off-site.
Serve as technical advisor for off-site and faculty generated recordings.
Set up and operate all audio equipment for single and multiple cameras.
Shoot B-roll as needed.
35% Post Production
All post-production duties, including:
Edit video and audio clips, modules and features.
Format for use on multiple platforms.
Still and motion graphics.
Uploading finished video to video management solution for distribution.
30% Training and Administrative Duties
Outfitting and set-up of video studio, and location based options.
Identification and documentation of video production workflows.
Research and identification of best practices in eLearning video production.
Identification, documentation, and creation of eLearning production samples.
Creation of style book and branding for Miami University eLearning offerings.
Implementation and management of video production schedule.
Supervising/Training student videographers, editors and crew.
Creation of an asset management/cataloging system for footage
Administration of video management solution as needed.
Backup / logging of new footage and completed projects.
Bachelor degree required.
Five years of professional work experience shooting/editing.
Demonstrated ability to handle a project independently from idea-to-completion and tell a visually compelling story with creative editing and sound.
Demonstrated ability to meet multiple coinciding deadlines.
Expertise with a variety of audio and video equipment and multiple software and editing programs.
Strong expertise in Adobe Premiere CC 2014.
Professional demeanor, strong communication skills with a range of people
Ability to supervise others and manage workflows.
Ability to support all stages of production as needed.
Masters degree preferred.
Ten years of professional work experience shooting/editing.
Demonstrated ability to shoot, write and produce broadcast-quality features.
Demonstrated storytelling ability.
Experience with closed captioning.
Experience with web-based communications.
Experience with educational communications.
Knowledge of the communication preferences of the target audience of college students.
Ability to develop/maintain video style book and branding standards
Ability to design/maintain production workflows and documentation processes.
Ability to develop/maintain an asset management/cataloging system
