Mt. Hood Community College is seeking a Dean of Instruction - Sciences and Health Sciences
Reporting to the Vice President of Instruction provides divisional leadership that supports the vision, mission and strategic goals of the College. Responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation and management of assigned instructional programs, division services, budget and division employees. Provides leadership in curriculum, educational assessment, strategic planning and budgeting. Employs enrollment management and retention strategies. Fosters collaborative working relationships with internal and external counterparts to communicate and coordinate strategies that support College and instructional goals; to assess and resolve academic issues; and to promote programs and services.
Sciences includes: life sciences (anatomy/physiology, biology, microbiology, fisheries and natural resources) and physical sciences (chemistry, geology, physics/astronomy and sustainability, health and safety sciences).
Health Sciences includes: dental hygiene, funeral services education, medical assistant, medical office, mental health and human services.
Serves as the coordinator of the Carl Perkins Grant's funds. Participates in command or general staff level Incident Command System positions as assigned by the President and successfully completes training applicable for their role.
Master's degree (or higher) in a related discipline
Five years of related teaching experience in one or more of the unit disciplines, including two years of instructional administrative experience
