Detailed Job Description

A Senior Attorney is responsible for providing legal representation to clients and conducting all phases of legal proceedings.

Additional Department Summary:

A Senior Attorney represents clients with disabilities in legal proceedings which are more complex than those handled by Staff Attorneys, provides information/referrals, and collaborates with ADAP's staff members in the provision of other advocacy services for ADAP's clients. In addition, the Senior Attorney mentors Staff Attorneys and provides training for law clerks. A Senior Attorney also has public education duties.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctorate and at least four (4) years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of personal computers and standard software applications.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires the incumbent to have personal transportation and to travel alone. Valid U.S. driver's license is required. Must be licensed to practice law in Alabama or be able to become a member of the Alabama Bar within one year of the date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate with four (4) years of practicing law in an area relevant to ADAP's work such as Public Interest Law, Legal Services, Disability Case Work or Juris Doctorate with three (3) years of practicing law at ADAP is preferred. 59 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 42993.60 Midpoint - $ 62337.60
