Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief Flight Instructor, performs a variety of duties to ensure departmental compliance with university, state and federal guidelines and laws, including management of specialized records pertaining to personnel and flight operations, database management and/or specified information-gathering. Ensures compliance with TSA regulations. Conducts flight training activities and is accountable as the primary flight instructor for those students assigned by the Chief Flight Instructor.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with an bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.


Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Excellent knowledge of AIMS aviation operations software.
Knowledge of data management strategies, data filtering, and related reports.
Knowledge of FARs parts applicable to flight instruction and flight operations.
A thorough knowledge of FAR Part 141 and TSA record-keeping requirements pilot schools.
Knowledge of operational risk management concepts.


Skill in the development of organizational procedures and best practices for office management and record-keeping.
Skill in interpersonal communication and problem-solving.
Skill in aviation managerial practices and operational risk management.


Ability to perform a variety of administrative support and record-keeping duties with minimum supervision.
Ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing to a diverse community and the ability to meet and deal with people of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to coordinate and assist in the preparation and monitoring of department financial transactions.

Pay Range

$33,068 to $44,091 annually
