This individual is responsible for the ongoing management of the Honors College faculty and programs, which includes: faculty/program development and assessment; maintenance of academic standards and accreditation; and external Honors program development and oversight. More specifically, duties include the: identification and training of new faculty; supporting the development and evaluation of courses; and the assessment of faculty members to assist with development and compliance. This individual will work with Academic Affairs to ensure the appropriate academic standards for all new Honors courses and programs are established and maintained. This position also involves working with other colleges, departments and programs which have an Honors component to enhance collaboration and coordination between the units to ensure efficient resource utilization and effective student outcomes. This individual will also work with other Honors College administrators and faculty representatives to continue to plot the strategic direction of the Honors College to ensure continued alignment with the University strategic plan. Representation of the Honors College at SEC and National Honors College seminars and events is desirable. The position also requires the management of Honors College program budgets related to the funding of student activities and student-development events.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
A Ph.D. or Ed.D. with at least seven years of experience in teaching and program management or University-related administrative experience. Successful candidate must have strong organizational leadership, strategic planning, resource allocation, and budgetary skills. In addition, the incumbent must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, team building, and analytical skills, along with the ability to communicate openly and effectively and to foster collaborative working relationships with and across all academic colleges.
