Assists the director of the Office of New Urban Mechanics by serving as the lead conducting research related to various civic engagement projects; working directly with community partners and clients to assure successful and timely completion of projects; collecting and analyzing data; developing written reports; and assisting with the design and execution of major events and activities in association with local government leaders and community partners. The research assistant will assist with other administrative tasks as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a field of study directly related to the research subject or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Any experience with graphic design, digital media, social media, or general marketing will be considered favorably.
Knowledge of research design and procedures, specifically in approaches anchored in “design thinking.”
Skill in conducting interviews, focus groups, surveys, and general research design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to produce professional quality research, writing, and findings in a timely manner.
