Works within the College of Technology and Computing to develop and manage an inventory control system and monitor safety standards in the labs. Primary responsibility is the effective daily operations of the lab to ensure the implementation and enforcement of mandatory and recommended safety practices and procedures, oversee safety issues associated with the materials and equipment used in labs, develop and implement an inventory control system for equipment used in labs and maintain check-out systems for equipment used by students.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in an area of expertise commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position OR a related combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Associate degree and 2 years in a related field.
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
Knowledge of chemical, hazardous waste, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental health standards.
Knowledge of the use and maintenance of laboratory facilities and/or equipment.
Knowledge of cleaning procedures and specifications of specified laboratory equipment and/or facilities.
Knowledge of state and university accident and injury reporting policies and procedures.
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
Skill in interpersonal problem-solving and decision-making.
Skilled in Management Information Systems.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Ability to utilize, calibrate, configure and/or troubleshoot laboratory testing systems and instruments.
Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end users.
