Detailed Job Description
The Assistant Dean for Administration in the College of Arts & Sciences will be a member of the administration of the College of Arts & Sciences and be responsible for scheduling, enrollment management and various administrative tasks in the College.
Coordinate the schedule for all CAS courses (both online and on-ground) for the fall, spring, summer and January term sessions.
Serve as CAS liaison with the Registrar's office in matters of registration, scheduling and classroom assignment.
Manage enrollments for all registration periods.
Project course offering needs based on enrollment figures.
Coordinate CAS participation in Admissions events (Open Houses and Admitted Students Days).
Evaluate transcripts for transfer students.
Serve as CAS liaison with the Admissions office in matters of transcript evaluation and annual events.
Evaluate courses to be taken by Quinnipiac students at other institutions during summer and winter sessions.
Evaluate courses to be taken by Quinnipiac students participating in study abroad programs.
Coordinate annual catalog revisions for CAS.
Contribute to the administration of the College of Arts & Sciences through participation in deans' meetings, chairs' meetings and other committees and projects as determined by the Dean.
Teach one course per semester in an Arts & Sciences discipline or in the QU Seminar Series.
Required Minimum Qualifications
M.A./M.S. or other advanced degree in an Arts & Sciences discipline. Candidate may be eligible for a courtesy faculty appointment in the appropriate department in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication, including public presentations.
Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. or other terminal degree in an Arts & Sciences discipline.
Strong interpersonal skills.
