Detailed Job Description

The Technology Management Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate technology management courses and direct course projects, create innovative instructional materials, and supervise extra-curricular activities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal, earned degree appropriate to discipline. ABD accepted. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in Technology Management or related field with experience in a technology-based industry and teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
Ph.D. or Ed.D

Knowledge

Knowledge of subject matter and curriculum development, including online teaching environment, pertinent to a BS Degree in Technology Management (quality control, reliability and safety, materials management, information/knowledge management, strategic planning, technology marketing, globalization, etc.) with an emphasis on project management.

Skills

Skill and experience in one or more technical areas such as transportation, construction, electrical automation, engineering graphics, engineering technology, manufacturing and production, mechatronics, information systems, product and project management, etc.
Pertinent software skills used by technology managers including MS Excel, MS Project, GP Dynamics, etc., and online software management systems such as Canvas

Abilities

Managerial and administrative abilities, including interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to plan and prepare instructional materials for a course of study with measurable objectives for each course taught and maintain and submit reports and records involving student accountability, attendance, performance, and follow-up.
Maintain a student-oriented approach to education and engage students in projects with outside organizations.
Compliance and accreditation experience highly desirable
