The Internship Office Program Coordinator is responsible for managing all campus internship activities, serving as a central resource for developing student internship opportunities, managing employer inquiries and requests, collaborating with individual academic departments to enhance existing programs or assist in the development of new programs, addressing risk management issues and supporting the matching process between students and employers.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Provide leadership and direction in the design and implementation of the internship program.
Develop partnerships with businesses, non-profits, and government agencies to create internship opportunities for students.
Work with academic programs to create new internship programs or enhance existing programs.
Facilitate student placements in appropriate internship assignments with employers, advising students through the search process, reviewing résumés, and preparing students for interviews.
Collect and track placement data.
Conduct regular assessment activities of the internship program.
Manage employer requests to the college for interns.
Recruit and train faculty to coordinate department level internship programs.
Provide leadership and support for all college-wide internship and job workshops and fairs.
Address employment law and risk management issues and communicate as appropriate with the college community.
Collaborate with other college offices and departments as appropriate.
Participate in local and national internship professional organizations and networks.
Inform the campus community of national internship trends and activities.
Conduct outreach activities to promote internship opportunities and activities.
Other duties as assigned by the Director or Associate Vice President.
