Detailed Job Description

The Programmer/Analyst supports the college's integrated Student and Administrative Information System (Ellucian Colleague) including developing, testing, debugging, implementing and supporting moderately complex computer programs using software development tools; applying vendor delivered maintenance; assisting customers in understanding system functionality; participating in group meetings with customers and technical staff; and preparing customer and technical documentation.  

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher required.

A minimum of three to five years total experience in systems analysis, design and coding of computer systems.

Task oriented, show initiative and be able to work on two or three assignments concurrently.

Programming skills in high-level computer languages such as Pick Basic, Universe, Envision Basic, COBOL, C#, jBASE, Visual Basic, etc

Technical skills in relational databases (UNIDATA preferred).

Strong analytical, coding, testing, documentation, interpersonal skills including excellent oral and written communication skills.

Customer-oriented with good customer service skills

Good team player who can also work independently.  

Preferred Qualifications

A degree in Management Information Systems or related field preferred. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Programming skills in UniBasic, Envision Tool Kit and Colleague Studio highly preferred.

Experience installing, implementing, maintaining and supporting vendor developed administrative systems a plus.

Experience using third party software for report writing is a plus.

Technical skills in UNIX and Client Server environments is a plus.

Project Management skills, with experience in defining and development of project scope for various projects, is a plus.

Experience in Higher Education a plus.
