Detailed Job Description

The TV Producer/Anchor plans, writes and coordinates the production of live daily newscasts for WVUA television. Responsible for all newscast content, he/she must write scripts in broadcast format as determined by industry standards and match them with appropriate video. Communicates clearly with various staff members in both the news and production departments.

Additional Department Summary:

Anchors one newscast per day (5 days weekly).

Required Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communication, Telecommunication and Film, Journalism or related field and a minimum of one (1) year of news producing and anchoring experience. Approved Equivalencies: (A) High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years; (B) Vocational/Technical/ Trade School in any field and 4 years; (C) Associates Degree and 3 years; (D) Bachelors Degree and 1 year

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Work may involve a non-typical work schedule, including working weekends and special events. May work in inclement weather. Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 30 pounds. Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier. 55 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 25833.60 Midpoint - $ 34444.80
