Detailed Job Description

The Associate Director provides support to faculty, staff project directors and other participants throughout the entire proposal preparation and submission process. S/he also serves as an authorized signatory for these proposals.  

Additional Description of Duties:

Assist the project director with proposal preparation

Provide counseling regarding appropriate match of conceptualized project with the call for proposals and federal and agency-specific restrictions

Demonstrated competency with pre and post award budget development and reporting at the state and federal level

Review proposals prior to submission to ensure timeliness, compliance, and budget adherence

Coordinate with other institutions when working on collaborative proposals.

Liaise with university grants administrator for all awards  

Position Qualifications

- Master's Degree required
- 3+ years of employment experience seeking governmental awards
- Ability to work well independently, meet deadlines, and willingness to multitask
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational ability with focused attention to detail, follow through and follow up
- Exemplary interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people  

License(s) Required for the Position

Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver's license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley's insurance carrier.
