The Program Coordinator assists in providing educational and recreational opportunities to the University community. Duties may include recruitment and supervision of staff and/or student workers, planning and implementing a calendar of events, promoting programs and services, establishing short and long term goals and policies for programs, patron services and relations, managing equipment, and administrative tasks such as budgeting and accounting.

Additional Department Summary:

The Coordinator of Competitive Sports will assist in the professional supervision of Intramural Sports and Sport Club programs for University Recreation. Primary responsibilities include officials' training and development, managing a comprehensive Intramural Sports program, scheduling Sport Club activities, and serving as a liaison for several Sport Clubs. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating Competitive Sports programs in collaboration with the Assistant Director and fellow Coordinator. The Competitive Sports program provides structured programming options to foster health and wellbeing, learning, leadership, and inclusion. The Assistant Director and Coordinator will determine an appropriate work schedule to ensure appropriate coverage of all events; including evening games and weekend activities. The Coordinator will enhance the level of evening and weekend professional supervision during Intramural Sports and Sport Club activities

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher. At least two (2) years of related experience. Knowledge of personal computers and standard software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, database management, etc.). Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Will consider graduate assistantship or internship experience if performed with primary emphasis on Intramural Sports programming. Knowledge of officiating and general sports rules. Ability to work extended hours (nights and weekends) as needed. Valid U.S. driver's license required. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree preferred. Current CPR and First Aid certification. Effective customer relations, interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with successfully managing a collegiate recreation program. Active sports official and/or progression in officiating. 56 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 28537.56 Midpoint - $ 39956.76
