The position reports directly to the Coordinator of Instrumentation and Controls Technology and will provide 15 credit hours of instruction per semester.
An Associates degree in Instrumentation and five years of demonstrated industry experience will be considered, and/or any combination of education and industry experience. Preference will be given for experience in instrumentation and electrical fields. Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, and three years of teaching/work experience is highly desired. Applicant must have a thorough knowledge of Basic Electricity, Electronics, Digital Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Devices, Motors, Control Systems, Control Loops, and PLC Programming. Computer literacy is required. Teaching experience at a community college level is highly desirable. Successful candidate will be dynamic and have a high energy level along with a strong commitment to the community college philosophy. Candidate should value diversity and have a multi-cultural perspective with adult/minority students. Willingness to enhance coursework with appropriate online materials and classroom technology.
Physical Requirements: Varied sitting, standing, bending, walking, twisting with the ability to lift up to 25lbs of related equipment/office supplies, etc. All finalists are subject to a Criminal Background Investigation prior to any offer of employment.
