Under the general direction of the Statewide GEAR UP Education Program Wasatch County counselor, works one-on-one with middle school and/or high school students; addresses the needs of diverse learners; serves as a positive role model; interacts with students and/or faculty using discernment, follow-through, and decision-making.
Requires graduation from a standard senior high school, or the equivalent.
Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to collaborate with students to enhance their knowledge in all junior high or high school level courses.
Ability to work with GEAR UP personnel and school staff at their assigned schools, colleges, or other locations.
Ability to effectively tutor students of all ages (list subject expertise on supplemental questionnaire).
Ability to use initiative, demonstrate dependability, and use time constructively.
Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals.
Ability to communicate effectively.
