To provide consistent reliable and timely support to Facilities by managing the Custodial Department and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the University. Coordinating the moving and set up of furnishings, replacement of furniture and other tasks; thus ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for facilities owned by the University.
Essential Functions, Major Duties, and/or Accountabilities:
-Directs the custodial staff in correct performance of duties. Hires and ensures the training of full time custodial staff. Manages the custodial staff emphasizing safety, security, good public relations, and following departmental custodial procedures. 40%
-Evaluates staff performance and provide progressive discipline. Evaluates procedures, labor distribution, supply usage, performance, and results. 20%
-Directs equipment repair, vehicle up-keep, furniture set-ups and moves, lighting replacement and reporting of maintenance needs to include furniture replacement. 10%
-Manages and controls budget, purchasing, billing, cost analysis, testing, labor costs and other budget requirements. 10%
-Coordinates supply chemical and equipment testing; analyzes results and upgrades as necessary. Understands and uses computers, custodial equipment, and other equipment necessary to complete duties. 10%
-Perfom other job related duties as assigned. 10%
