The Department of Public Safety Administration is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, tenure track, faculty position to teach within the Department of Public Safety Administration (Graduate- Criminal Justice and/or Critical Incident Management courses online, video conferencing, face to face at University Campus, Saint Leo, Florida.


This is a nine (9) month, full-time faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate rank.


Exceptional candidates may be considered at the Associate level.


This position is pending final budgetary approval for the 2015-2016 academic year.


Review of candidate materials begins immediately for anticipated start date of July or August 2015. Basic Function:

The faculty member will be required to:

  • Teach 6 classes per year;
  • Advise students;
  • Assess, assist, and guide online adjunct
  • Criminal Justice/Critical Incident Management faculty under the direction of the department director;
  • Engage in curriculum development;
  • Support recruiting efforts;
  • Demonstrate professional development (e.g., scholarly research);
  • Undertake community service in keeping with the school’s Benedictine values;
  • Teach on-ground, video conferencing, online; and
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate classes.
  • Be able to teach traditional and non-traditional age students; and
  • Demonstrate the ability to use discipline-related computer programs.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

Doctorate Degree (Juris Doctorate) will not be considered for this position


Doctorate Degree in Criminal Justice, Critical Incident Management or related field


At least ten (10) years experience in Criminal Justice, Critical Incident Management or related field


Ability to teach in an online environment.

Ability to teach via Video Conferencing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior teaching of non-traditional students at the University level.
