South Hampton Roads

Assist coordination of staff assistants at multiple locations.
Manage textbooks and instructional materials for faculty.
Manage overall office operations.

Responsible for the billing process for tuition assistance for military and civilians.

Basic Function:

Business Administration:
• Classroom procurement and designation for built course schedules
• Daily retrieval, receipt documenting, and distribution of all Center mail
General Administration:
• Assisting Director with processing new hire paperwork
• Managing and administering Tuition Assistance,and Sponsor billing
• Procuring base clearances for all new Faculty; administer to renewal of clearances for active, existing Faculty
• Oversee the ordering of office forms, office supplies and equipment

  • Coordinate and supervise all staff assistants at multiple locations
  • Manage textbooks and instructional materials for over 125 faculty members
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Schedule staff assistants and academic advisors to optimize coverage at all locations
  • Schedule and coordinate with local military facilities for delivery of quality education to a diverse military and civilian population
  • Masters candidates will be considered for open teaching positions in accordance with SACS guidelines
  • Administrative experience required
  • Experience with military community
  • Assist in the coordination of the semester schedules for faculty
  • Coordinate all travel outside of the SHREC area
  • Tuition Assistance sponsorship for all military personnel and private employees

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

Knowledge of higher education; ability to work in a team environment, ability to prioritize work, management time and use computer programs.
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters (preferred).

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters preferred from regionally accredited college or university.
