The Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance within the Donald R. Tapia School of Business is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, faculty position to teach accounting courses at our main University Campus in Saint Leo, Florida. Tenure Track status will be determined and offered based on qualifications and/or experience of the final candidate.
This is a nine (9) month, full-time faculty appointment at the Instructor/Assistant/ Associate rank. This position may require teaching Saturday and/or evening classes.
This position is pending final budgetary approval for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Review of candidate materials begins immediately for anticipated start date of August 2015. To apply, submit letter of introduction documenting successful teaching experience; curriculum vitae; three letters of recommendation (all should be professional references and at least one from a recent superior); values statement (500 words or less) and teaching philosophy (500 words or less), which highlights how your teaching and administrative philosophy and practices fit the Mission and Values of Saint Leo University; official transcripts (including WES evaluation if from an international university); and student evaluations from the last year (at least six classes, an even mix of graduate and undergraduate).
•Teach 8 classes per year;
•Assess, assist, and guide online adjunct Accounting faculty under the direction of the department chair;
•Engage in curriculum development;
•Support recruiting efforts;
•Demonstrate professional development (e.g., scholarly research);
•Undertake community service in keeping with the school’s Benedictine values;
•Teach on-ground, online; and
•Teach undergraduate and graduate classes.
•Be able to teach traditional and non-traditional age students; and
•Demonstrate the ability to use discipline-related computer programs
To be considered at the Assistant level an applicant must possess a Doctorate degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution with credentials to teach Accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate level per accreditation guidelines (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting).
To be considered at the Instructor level an applicant must possess a Master’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution with credentials to teach Accounting courses at the undergraduate level per accreditation guidelines (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting).
An exceptional candidate possessing a Doctorate degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution with credentials to teach Accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate level per accreditation guidelines and with experience may be considered at the Associate level.
Candidate must be able to demonstrate excellence in the classroom (on-ground and online) and have the ability to use discipline-related computer programs.
ABD with expected completion by employment start date will also be considered
Master’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting to be considered at Instructor level.
