Under the supervision of the Distance Learning Specialist, the Distance Learning Network technician schedules and coordinates distance learning programming and provides technical assistance to internal and external video distance learning customers.
*Serve as an interactive television (ITV) facilitator.
*Coordinate and schedule video classes, meetings and tests for all internal and external customers.
*Maintain distance learning schedule of classes and meetings using scheduling and system software. Confirm daily scheduled ITV events via email to requesters and facilitators.
*Schedule, maintain and troubleshoot Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) scheduling.
*Provide scheduling and technical support for WITC, Northern Wisconsin Education Communications System (NWECS) and State Bridging customers.
*Produce and electronically distribute weekly calendar of interactive television (ITV) programming.
*Maintain and update information on the WITC, NWECS and BSN MCU scheduling websites.
*Set up, test and support mobile WITC video equipment. Set up and test video and audio equipment with external customers.
*Develop and produce forms, brochures and other materials for the College and NWECS.
*Collect, record and prepare statistical data and other reports as requested.
*Attend and take minutes at NWECS consortium programming and governing board meetings.
*Work with state agencies to help schedule and solve technical problems on the Badgernet Converged Network.
1. Associate degree or four years related work experience or a combination of related education and work experience totaling five years.
2. Knowledge of current computer office software such as educational and interactive learning systems, word processing, database, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
3. Ability to quickly and independently learn and master the use of new computer software packages.
4. Knowledge of current office practices and procedures and skill in their application.
5. Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to foster effective relationships with internal and external customers.
$15.28 – $16.46 hourly
