• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information, educational technology, or related field

• Three years’ experience working in the information technology industry

• Training in computer hardware and software systems to include operating systems and applications systems.

• Specific experience in computer hardware and software systems to include operating systems and applications systems

• Minimum of three years information technology experience in government or industry including supervision of technology systems (WAN, LAN, Applications, Hardware).

• Maintain and manage 24/7 Helpdesk, VoIP Telephone System, CCTV Support, and all other IT systems and protocols used by the College

• Possess leadership and management skills as well as the ability to know when to utilize them. Also key are team building and team membership skills. The employee must also be able to work effectively with a wide variety of College, community and governmental agencies as a team player.

• Experience in strategic planning and execution.

• Knowledge of higher education processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.

• Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems.

• Good understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.

• Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.

• Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development.

Essential Job Summary:

• Act as a Network Administrator - Manage users access to the college network, network accounts, email accounts, modem pool accounts, web site access accounts, remote access accounts, modify network user security as users access needs change, old user maintenance, network server maintenance, design and maintain the network wiring backbone and infrastructure, disk management, exercise security measures system backup, network printer access, create and maintain TCP/IP workstation addresses maintain internet connectivity

• Selects, designs, installs, tests, debugs, modifies and maintains the hardware, network, and software necessary to operate and improve the present information management system.

• Oversee network switch monitoring and maintenance - Upgrade and perform maintenance as needed install network operation system patches

• Upgrade server hardware as needed

• Maintain College’s email and scheduling system - Upgrade as needed

• Maintain College’s Anti-Virus programs and data

• Oversees routine preventive maintenance on hardware; problem solving and troubleshooting non-routine maintenance problems.

• Plans, develops, and reviews software applications to support College operations

• Recommends procedures and policies regarding the use of software and hardware.

• Assists in obtaining and preparing data for decision-making, planning and evaluation.

• Maintains and assures the confidentiality of data.

• Assists faculty and staff in conducting classroom research and student outcomes assessment projects; generates institutional reports.

• Performs research related to planning, decision-making, institutional effectiveness, student outcomes assessment, and curriculum development or modification.

• Prepares appropriate written documentation for computer programs, applications, and procedures.

• Accomplishes other tasks as may be required and assigned by the President of the College.

• Provide technical direction to Computer Lab Aides

• Manage Web site development

• Manage, develop and support an additional web server

• Verify that appropriate network protocols, settings and programs are installed on required workstations

• General server administration, support and monitoring.
