Detailed Job Description

On the Hamilton and Middletown Campuses this position oversees the English Language Center including all personnel, budget, programs, initiatives, and systems. Reports to the Assistant Dean.


Work closely with the Assistant Dean to implement cohesive and consistent intensive English programs and courses for all regional campus students;
Oversee the daily operations of the ELC including admissions, curriculum, orientation, programming and activities;
Manage development of pedagogical goals, curriculum and materials, policies and procedures;
Manage the admissions, course scheduling, billing, and programming for all efforts in the ELC;
Serve as a liaison for the dean's office regarding program, housing, partnership agreements, student success and concerns;
Provide ongoing review, evaluation, and improvement of the program;
Collaborate and communicate with all international and global partners;
Supervise and evaluate all professional staff in the office;
Communicate and collaborate with the offices of advising, international student and scholar initiatives, admission and financial aid, records and registration, learning assistance, cashier and business services;
Conduct, monitor, and evaluate international student retention programs Coordinate the registration process for all transfer students;
Recruit, train, and evaluate all faculty in the ELC;
Provide and support the professional development of faculty and staff;
Serve on appropriate University, campus, and divisional committees;
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean.

Basic Qualifications

Master degree and TESOL certification; professional experience working with international English Language Learners a either the K-12 or higher education level.

Preferred Qualifications

Three to five years experience in intensive English program administration or teaching, experience working with international students and students from diverse backgrounds.
