Under the direction of the Senior Director of Development, supports and collaborates closely with the Dean/Leader of their assigned college/unit. As a member of the University’s central development enterprise, will be assigned to lead the corporate sponsorship efforts for their assigned unit.
Operating within approved University and Foundation guidelines and strategy is responsible for identifying, qualifying and directly soliciting for approved sponsorships and stewarding contributors. Provides support to the Dean of the College in planning, organizing, and implementing engagement-focused academic events for the unit. Oversees all events sponsored by the College of their assigned unit to ensure compliance with University policies, risk management, legal codes and affecting liability and regulations governing financial responsibility.
Manages all features of event planning, marketing, and production from inception to post-event assessment (including but not restricted to, budgeting, physical layout, invitation list development, RSVP tracking, seating planning, program development and scheduling, ticketing, marketing, promotion, catering, audiovisual services, special needs, event or speaker security).
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field and three years experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling seven years.
Knowledge of and direct experience with fund raising procedures, techniques, and the ability to apply this knowledge in personal fund raising.
Strong knowledge of effective web-based search engines and search strategies.
Knowledge of academic operations, governance, and culture.
Skill in standard office productivity software, which must include MS Office programs.
