Under the direction of the Director of Support Services – Distance Education, supports technical and logistical aspects of Distance Education course delivery. Provides technical course support services for all faculty and students through phone calls, chat requests, emails and personal contact. Assists Distance Education faculty in updating and programming course materials in the learning management system. Monitors student progress and contact students to screen problems. Tracks technical and academic issues related to Distance Education courses until resolution.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in a related field OR any combination of education and experience totaling 3 year(s).
Knowledge of multiple computer systems and applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, Internet tools, and email systems.
Skill working in a customer service, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Skill with online learning management systems.
Ability to apply effective interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
Ability to assess technical and logistical course related problems and to assist with solutions.
Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group or individuals.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively for both short-term projects and daily responsibilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records.
