The Department of Nursing and Health Professions at Utah State University (USU) seeks a Professional Practice Assistant Professor of Nursing at the USU Eastern, Price Campus. This is a 9-month benefited position.
USU Eastern is a comprehensive regional college (community college mission plus selected baccalaureate and graduate degrees) in the USU system. The town of Price is a small, safe, and diverse community in the high plateau region of eastern Utah. A drive of an hour or more north leads to the cities of the Wasatch Front, Salt Lake City International Airport, and some of the country’s best ski resorts and mountain scenery. A similar drive to the south leads to Utah’s famous national parks and access to some of the best outdoor recreational resources in the American West.
This position fills the role of Professional Practice Assistant Professor within the USU Nursing Program. The successful candidate will work with faculty to teach undergraduate lectures, clinical courses, and labs in the nursing program. Responsibilities may include coordination of clinics, curriculum development, teaching, professional engagement, and service. Courses are taught in person at the USU Eastern Price Campus and via distance education to other USU regional campuses.
1. A Master’s degree in nursing
2. A record of excellent teaching
3. Ability to promote a positive and collaborative environment
4. Licensed registered nurse in the State of Utah or eligible for licensure in the state
5. Demonstrated ability in interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills
1. A doctoral degree with a graduate degree in nursing
2. Three years’ experience in health care
3. A minimum of three years of higher education experience
