Under the direction of the Chief Flight Instructor or designee, conducts ground and flight instruction with UVU Professional Pilot students in accordance with FAA regulations, department policies and standard operating practices. Prepares and recommends students for FAA practical tests.
Graduated with a standard high school diploma or the equivalent and current FAA Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land, Instrument Airplane. Must have a current and valid Certified Flight Instructor certificate, Instrument Airplane (CFII), current flight review, current instrument privileges, current 2nd class FAA medical certificate, and other ratings as applicable to the responsibilities assigned.
Current FAA Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land, Instrument Airplane. Current FAA Flight Instructor Instrument Certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land. Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land. Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate.

Applicant must Pass initial and recurrent proficiency checks to meet both FAR part 61 and 141 requirements.
Knowledge of standard pilot training practices and regulations.
Knowledge of instructional materials contained in required FAA pilot aeronautical publications.
Knowledge of FAR Part 61 and 141 regulations.
Effective interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to use standard word processing and general computer applications.
