Detailed Job Description

Supports the university in maintaining a safe and effective learning and work environment for students, faculty and staff. Assists in providing mechanical installation and/or upkeep to various systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing and heating/cooling (HVAC).

Minimum Qualifications

Graduated with a standard high school or the equivalent plus 1-3 year(s) experience related to key roles and responsibilities. Must have a valid Drivers Licenses.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in electrical maintenance.


Knowledge of basic electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
Knowledge of fluorescent lighting systems (lamps, ballast wiring, tombstone wiring).


Skill in the use of various maintenance tools, volt and amp meters, etc…).
Skill in working on live 277 volt circuits.


Ability to climb, stoop, bend, twist, kneel, crawl, lift, push, pull, grasp, sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.
Fine hand coordination, be able to communicate effectively with others and have normal hearing and sight.
Applicant must have a current valid driver’s license.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints/plans.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work in uncomfortable conditions (heights, weather, cramped spaces, etc.)

Pay Range

$30,052 to $37,565 annually
