Detailed Job Description

The Laboratory Research Specialist will provide day-to-day management and supervision of the Biogeochemistry Laboratory at the Dauphin Island Sea Laboratory, including maintenance and running of the membrane inlet mass spectrometer, field sampling, and assisting faculty in basic research in an essentially independent manner and Assist Director of the Biogeochemistry Laboratory in drafting manuscripts and grant writing to procure funds for additional instrumentation and research. The Laboratory Research Specialist will also provide training to students and staff in basic biogeochemical analyses commonly used in the Biogeochemistry Laboratory.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience; or a master's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS in Biological Science or related discipline with experience in a laboratory environment preferred, experience operating analytical instruments. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 31969.56 Midpoint - $ 46342.44
