Saint Louis University, an international Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to education, research, service, and healthcare, invites nominations and applications for a Professor and Chair, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health in the College for Public Health and Social Justice. The Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice is a new college that includes five public health departments and a school of social work and has a vibrant and growing enrollment. It is the only accredited school or college of public health in a Jesuit, Catholic university, and is committed to social justice, excellence in education, community engagement, and research that leads to improved health and well-being. The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health offers six degrees and includes three centers.

The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree (PhD, M.D., Dr.P.H., ScD) with advanced training or experience in environmental and occupational health or a cognate field such as environmental health expertise in engineering, chemistry, toxicology, microbiology, or epidemiology. Evidence of excellence in research, a track record of external funding, experience mentoring researchers and PhD students, and teaching excellence are required. The successful candidate will have an academic standing and record consistent with appointment as a tenured full professor. Responsibilities include conducting independent research, teaching (graduate and/or undergraduate), and providing professional and community service. Leaders with experience and interest in global health, water and health, and air quality and health are especially encouraged to apply.
