The position reports directly to the Dean, School of Sciences and will teach 15 credit hours per semester of freshman and sophomore level biology classes.

Classes taught can include the following: Introduction to Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, Microbiology, and other general biology courses. Responsibilities will also include organizing and maintaining laboratories in biology; developing and revising instructional materials as appropriate; keeping student records; advising students; assisting in recommending and orienting part-time faculty; and working with college councils and committees as assigned. The instructor will maintain a minimum of five office hours per week. Day and evening classes can be expected. Instruction times may vary possibly including evening hours.
Classroom locations may vary to include: SJC Main Campus, SJC East Campus and SJC West Campus.
