Detailed Job Description

Miami University's innovative Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies (AIMS) is seeking a talented, qualified and enthusiastic candidate to help lead a new initiative in Cincinnati. AIMS is launching, in coordination with Career Services and as a part of the Ohio Means Internships and Co-Ops grant, a cross-disciplinary, semester-long program where students live, work and network with entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers in downtown Cincinnati.


This Cincinnati Innovation Center Project Manager will have a range of responsibilities related to advancing local industry relationships, research, teaching and service activities of the Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies. These activities will specifically focus on, but not limited to::

1. Fostering student community development and connection to the local technology ecosystem
2. External funding through grant writing
3. Industry partnership development and promotion
4. Internships acquisition
5. Determining, managing and coordinating housing in Cincinnati
6. AIMS Alumni engagement
7. Organizing local trips and networking events
8. Organizing and executing events and parties
9. Interview students applying for the program
10. Advising students on resume development, interview skills and LinkedIn development
11. Manage budget

In addition, the position may assist with other activities for AIMS.

While primarily focused on the Cincinnati Innovation Center, as a member of the staff of AIMS, the Cincinnati Innovation Center Project Manager will be responsible for other tasks provided by the Director and Assistant Director of AIMS and in support of the missions and tactical goals of the Institute and the University.

Basic Qualifications

The following are required qualifications for this position: bachelor's degree, excellent written and oral presentation skills, willingness to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends, ability to adapt within entrepreneurial start-up environment and a willingness to operate between Cincinnati and Oxford.

Preferred Qualifications

The following are desired qualifications: experience organizing student trips and events and experience with organizations in the interactive media ecosystem, experience with and understanding of the unique needs of entrepreneurs, experience and understanding of interactive media and social media marketing (as demonstrated by coursework or professional experience).
