Frostburg State University, Department of Music, seeks applications for a Director of Choirs and Choral Music Education at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position to begin Fall 2015. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes University System of Maryland benefits package. 

Responsibilities: Conduct University Chorale, Chamber Choir, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Teach undergraduate courses in choral music education, including choral music methods in elementary and secondary education and choral conducting. Supervise students in field experiences and internships. Develop and maintain a regional and national profile within the profession and actively pursue a scholarly/creative agenda. The successful candidate must collaborate with music education colleagues as well as develop and sustain strong relationships with the local, regional, and national choral community. 

Minimum Qualifications: ABD in Music or related field may be considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor. Evidence of successful teaching experience in secondary choral music. Understanding and application of technology and current trends utilized in music instruction. Expertise in conducting and working effectively with pre-college students and music majors. Application materials submitted must provide links to online video documentation including a 10- to 15-minute rehearsal segment and a recent performance conducted by the applicant. 

Preferred Qualifications: Earned Doctorate in Music or related field required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Experience teaching music theory and/or music history a plus.
