Detailed Job Description
The Director, Corporate Relations is responsible for managing corporate philanthropic relationships, creating, and executing the corporate solicitation strategies needed to advance key programmatic priorities of Bentley University.
As a senior development officer, s/he reports directly to the Executive Director of Development and is responsible for managing a prospect list of 75-100 corporate prospects.
Additional Description of Duties:
Develop a comprehensive program of strategic engagement, solicitation and stewardship for Bentley's many corporate partners and prospects. Build upon existing corporate relationships and identify new opportunities to advance priority programs as identified by the University leadership and Vice President for University Advancement.
Work collaboratively with faculty, administration, staff, and University Advancement and Career Services colleagues to identify opportunities for meaningful engagement and philanthropic support, research potential funding partners, develop proposals and serve as the main point of philanthropic contact for Bentley's many corporate partners and potential partners.
Develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with colleagues in University Advancement and across the university, to identify alumni partnerships and opportunities for corporate philanthropy within corporate organizations.
Maintain relationships with a wide network of potential and current corporate partners.
Bachelors required. Masters preferred. 5-7 years development experience with a focus on corporate fund-raising, in a college or university setting. Capital campaign experience preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated success in strategizing, soliciting and securing major corporate and/or individual gifts.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to act with confidence and effectiveness with a wide range of personalities and levels of influence.
Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities with an attention to detail.
Demonstrated success in creating collaborative partnerships between non-profit and business sector.
License(s) Required for the Position
Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted US driver's license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley's insurance carrier.
