Detailed Job Description

The Mental Health Professional III (MHP III) provides clinical services to clients and their families and fulfills specific clinical and supervisory functions. The primary responsibilities include providing clinical services, serving as an expert member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, exercising clinical oversight of non-licensed staff, serving as a liaison to various groups, and providing agency-wide leadership on clinical matters. The MHP III will also assist with program evaluation and research, and may also serve as the Discipline Liaison.

Additional Department Summary:

As a senior-level mental health professional, this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of assessment planning for youth in care and the coordination of treatment programming for juvenile adolescents. This position may provide clinical supervision to case managers/therapists at a designated residential facility or designated treatment program and will assist in the oversight of program evaluation, auditing and review of all treatment programs. The primary non-clinical responsibilities of this position include serving as an expert member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, providing consultation and supervision to interdisciplinary team members and exercising clinical and supervision of non-licensed staff and mental health professionals. Will frequently represent the program to other agencies in the juvenile justice and youth services system.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree in a mental-health related field from an accredited institution of higher education, with coursework in child development and two years of successful mental health experience, or a Master's Degree in a mental-health related field and five years of mental health experience. Must include experience with children and/or adolescents. Licensure in the state of Alabama at the level of an Independent Practitioner.

Preferred Qualifications:

5 years demonstrated clinical experience providing assessment and treatment services to adolescents. 59 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 42265.56 Midpoint - $ 59592.00
