St. Petersburg College (SPC) takes pride in helping students finish what they start, therefore advising students effectively from application to graduation is critical. SPC is seeking a strong critical thinking skills, dynamic, and energetic Student Support Manager for our fast-paced advising center within the Allstate Center.

The Allstate Center is a unique campus that primarily focuses on College of Public Safety programs that includes Fire, Corrections, and Law Enforcement academies. To be a strong candidate for consideration, we are looking for the ideal person who is energized by working in a team environment to solve problems; who possesses an approachable presence; who has a positive outlook toward personal and collaborative growth, and, is able to remove barriers to help students succeed.

The Student Support Manager will be responsible for coordinating student services and activities in an assigned area.  Responsibilities will generally include: providing direct student assistance; ensuring consistency and compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations or guidelines; coordinating services with other departments and outside agencies; developing and evaluating programs and services; coordinating and facilitating special events; and, developing marketing and promotion strategies.

Additionally, the candidate will develop and maintain internal and external relationships; participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, and/or other related groups to communicate information regarding services, programs, areas of opportunity, and/or other information; represents the department on committees, advocacy groups, and/or related groups that support the College Experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field to assigned area.  Master’s degree preferred.

One (1) year of management experience in a field related to assigned area.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.
