We are looking for a candidate with strong interests and capabilities in design and development of online user experiences to fill our full-time NetCommunity Specialist position. This position is responsible for developing Blackbaud NetCommunity (BBNC) solutions which support University Advancement’s online giving and engagement strategies. The ideal candidate thrives in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-motivation, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both analytical and creative ideas to develop engaging designs and will also have experience in an innovative development environment.
This position leverages marketing, communication and a fundraising best practice applied to BBNC and integrates all executable features of BBNC into business processes that support overall engagement, fundraising goals and the University Strategic plan. Reports to the Manager of Information Services and serves as a member of the Advancement Services team, primarily supporting University Advancement operations.
Technical Responsibilities (40%)
Develops and enhances all BBNC features within the software capabilities.
Develops approved projects using HTML/CSS3/CSS4 to support brand and customization.
Develops and maintains email templates.
Develops emails within software capabilities per request using templates as appropriate.
Develops page templates and parts as necessary.
Enhances user experience by developing and updating online community pages and templates.
Supports Portal site growth, enhancements and content updates.
Develops approved projects using HTML to support brand and customization.
Works with system administrator to adjust user security as needed.
General Responsibilities (40%)
Collaborates with staff to support branding and outreach efforts within University policies and protocols.
Create and maintains infrastructure. standardization to organize and simplify site development.
Fully utilizes resources to grow product knowledge and software support to problem solve issues.
Identifies opportunities in team staff meetings to change the portal to support changes in team needs.
Maintains system integrity.
Recommends NetCommunity solutions and establishes new standards and practices.
Recommends new standards and best practices when applicable.
Schedules maintenance opportunities to keep portal content relevant.
Serves as one of the BBNC experts to effectively advise BBNC usage and optimization.
Supports Advancement Services team by serving as backup to related BBNC and Raiser’s Edge tasks.
Supports BBNC online community enhancements.
Supports user download and NetCommunity plugin functionality.
Other Responsibilities as Assigned – (20%)
Participates as an active team member of University Advancement.
Supports staff training.
Uses Raiser’s Edge and NetCommunity integration knowledge to enhance user experience.
Utilizes the integration of queries and list management of Raiser’s Edge and NetCommunity.
2+ years’ experience developing within HTML5/CSS3/CSS4.
Experience working in a Web Content Management System.
User training experience.
Experience in working with projects and deadlines.
Experience working in a team environment.
Experience working in a higher education or non-profit environment.
Experience working with Blackbaud NetCommunity and The Raiser’s Edge.
Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
Project management experience.
