Saint Louis University, a Catholic Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, healthcare, and service, is seeking to fill, beginning July 1, 2015, the position of Chair in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, a department offering undergraduate degrees in Music, Theatre, Studio Art and Art History. FPA consists of 22 full-time faculty members, 25 adjunct professors and four full-time staff members. The administrative structure consists of the Chair, Associate Chair and a Program Director in each of the four arts areas. Each academic year, FPA produces four main stage theatrical productions,two black box productions, 20-24 music recitals/performances, six to eight art exhibitions, and a speaker series.

The responsibilities of the Chair include administering policies of University/College/FPA, managing budgets, evaluating faculty/staff, coordinating arts curriculum with Madrid campus in Spain, coordinating recruitment and fund-raising efforts, and teaching in his/her area of specialty. The successful candidate will hold a terminal degree (PhD, MFA, or DMA) in one of FPA's arts areas; have a teaching and publication/creative endeavor record appropriate to his/her discipline; be tenurable; and have proven leadership skills. Three years Chair/Administration experience preferred.
