Detailed Job Description

The Department of Economics at Bentley University invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenured track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer Faculty of Economics beginning fall 2014. The contract is renewable annually and carries a four-course per semester teaching load. The successful applicant must be able to teach introductory and upper-level courses at both the undergraduate and master's levels.

Exceptionally qualified candidates may also be considered for the position of Director of the Economics, Finance and Statistics Learning Center. In addition to the above responsibilities, a candidate will have previous supervisory experience. Responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, training and managing between 12-15 student tutors in a professional environment.  

Additional Description of Duties:

Lecturer faculty are also expected to hold weekly office hours.  

Position Qualifications

Candidates must have a Master's Degree, be ABD in Economics, or have similar credentials in a closely related field, and have previous teaching experience. Strong preference is given to candidates with a completed PhD. The teaching load is eight courses per year.

In addition to the above qualifications, consideration for the Director of the Economics, Finance and Statistics Learning Center is given to candidates with previous supervisory and leadership experience. This position carries a reduced teaching load.
