Detailed Job Description
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Bentley University - an independent, private business university located in suburban Boston -- is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2015. In exceptional circumstances, the department will consider applications from highly qualified Associate or Full Professors where there is a particular fit with the needs and direction of the department.
Additional Description of Duties:
In addition to undergraduate degrees in mathematical sciences and actuarial science, the department offers an MS in Business Analytics and participates in the PhD program in Business. By providing teaching and research leadership at all levels of the curriculum, the department is part of a dynamic and expanding arts and sciences program that works closely with the business disciplines. Candidates must have completed a doctoral degree in applied statistics or a related field prior to the start of employment. Individuals with research interests that lend themselves to interdisciplinary research and curriculum initiatives in areas compatible with the interests of current department members are especially encouraged to apply. Excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as well as strong research potential is essential. Salary, benefits, and teaching load are competitive.
