Detailed Job Description
The Director, HR Operations is responsible for all HRIS systems as well as the day-to-day operations. He/she will have responsibility for leading and developing the HR support function and will be a master at analyzing, organizing and implementing workflow improvements.
Additional Description of Duties:
Manage and direct the activities and staff involved in the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of human resource information systems (Banner, PeopleAdmin, ImageNow, Cognos).
Provide the HR perspective and expertise as it relates to Information Technology system selections, upgrades, implementations and improvements. Analyze system needs of all HR functions and research and identify appropriate technical solutions. Partner with Information Technology staff, other departmental Key Users, and or/vendors in the development and management of information system capabilities, including identification and implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing systems.
Represent Human Resources in Key User and IT Steering Committee meetings. Participate in review, planning, and testing of functionality in shared university systems during upgrades.
Develop a solid understanding of specific HRIS systems and processes at Bentley. Learn to configure and administer systems such as PeopleAdmin and ImageNow. Establish policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all HRIS data. Ultimately responsible for the accurate entry and maintenance of all data in the institution's HR systems.
Oversee administration of leaves of absence and unemployment compensation.
Manage HR Assistant and front reception desk, the HRIS Manager, and HR Analyst.
Bachelor's degree. Master's preferred. 5+ plus years of progressive leadership experience in related Human Resources positions.
Advanced technological knowledge and broad-base knowledge of the major areas within the Human Resources function, i.e.: HRIS, Recruitment, Compensation, Benefits, Learning & Development, Employee/Labor Relations and Leave Administration.
Ability to conduct process flow reviews, streamline and revise procedures as necessary; coordinate and manage any required changes so that processes move smoothly and efficiently across all areas of Human Resources.
Demonstrated ability to recommend software solutions, and lead subsequent software implementations. Experience with Banner (or other enterprise HR systems), PeopleAdmin, Cognos, and Microsoft Office preferred.
Experience using enterprise reporting systems to develop new reports, creating and uploading text files, and troubleshooting technical issues when necessary.
Prior experience implementing electronic workflow and document management systems a plus.
Proven ability to be "hands on" with new technologies; learning, configuring, and troubleshooting systems.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys managing complex work flows.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with diverse workforce and with employees at all levels.
