The Department of Computer Information Systems at Bentley University invites applications for a non-tenure-track (annually renewable contract) Lecturer position starting in the fall of 2015. The department is seeking an individual with either (a) a PhD in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field or (b) an appropriate master's level degree and significant experience in a relevant field of information systems practice. The selected individual will be expected to contribute to the CIS department's mission of educating technically adept business information systems professionals particularly in the area of IT infrastructure, including networking and data communications.

The CIS department offers programs at the undergraduate and master's levels and contributes courses to several other programs at Bentley including the undergraduate general education core and the MBA core. The main areas of teaching include web & mobile technologies, object-oriented application development, database management, systems analysis and design, computing and communication infrastructure, data mining, enterprise architecture, IT project management, and IT management & policy. CIS faculty's scholarship encompasses the areas of Management Information Systems and Computer Science. CIS faculty research receives external funding and appears in the leading publication outlets.  

Additional Description of Duties:

Salary, benefits, and teaching load are competitive. A typical teaching load for a lecturer is eight courses per year; a reduced load per year may be considered for a lecturer with a PhD and an active program of research that meets Bentley standards for faculty qualification as outlined by AACSB.
