Georgia Southern University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for three (3) tenure track assistant professor positions in Mechanical Engineering (with emphasis in BioMechatronics, Vehicle Design and Analysis,  and Mechanical Simulation and Analysis) and one tenure track assistant or associate professor positions in Mechanical Engineering (with emphasis in Additive Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability) .   The full text advertisements, including information about the department, faculty, and the complete position announcements with all qualifications and application instructions, is available at Screening of applications begins 21 November 2014, and continues until the positions are filled. Reporting to the chair of the department, the position of assistant professor requires teaching, service, and research responsibilities as well as a terminal degree. The faculty member in this position is required to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses (lecture and laboratory); supervise MSAE theses and undergraduate projects; pursue scholarly activities (including research in the field, writing and managing grants, and preparing peer reviewed publications); engage in academic mentoring; assist in program assessment and execution of a continuous improvement plan; participate in professional service; and participate in professional activities and organizations.  The position is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
