Leads our digital photography program and help develop a video production component. Coordinates and strengthens curriculum, procedures and activities, teaches photography courses, motivates students to excel and create compelling conceptual work, and maintains an active level of creating and exhibiting work on a regional, national or international level.
Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal, earned degree appropriate to discipline. ABD accepted. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an MFA degree in Photography or a related field OR an equal combination of professional related education and experience nationally or internationally.
Strong background in photo history and contemporary photographic criticism.
Knowledge of both digital processes and video production is desired.
Skill in Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro and Capture One.
Skill in traditional photographic methods and processes as well as ways to integrate analog and digital workflows.
Ability to motivate students to excel and create compelling imagery in a variety of styles.
Ability to critique student work in a productive way that inspires higher achievement in the students chosen specialization.
Ability to demonstrate course development, creative pedagogy, innovative conceptualization and execution of imagery and critique images from multiple perspectives.
