The position is based on a nine-month contract, with the option of contracting for summer courses. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays, but duties may include some evening classes, online teaching, and/or independent studies. Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events.
LeTourneau University, a vibrant and growing interdenominational, evangelical Christian university, known for high-quality STEM programs that attract students of outstanding academic ability, invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Professor of English.
The successful candidate will teach literature and freshman composition, assist in student advising and curriculum development, and serve on university-wide committees. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching (both residential and on-line), research, and professional academic life. Literature expertise outside British and American literature will be a plus. Candidates will be able to articulate a mature, personal Christian faith and a well-developed Christian perspective on literature and academic life. Productive, current scholarship is expected. PhD preferred.
