The Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) in the College of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking applications for one tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2015. The CIS program is ABET-accredited and is actively pursuing AACSB accreditation. We are searching for a Computer Information Systems professor who can provide quality instruction in foundations of information systems and several of the following areas: systems analysis and design, analysis of hardware/software and user interfaces, telecommunications and networking, database management and data warehousing, systems and applications programming with object-oriented languages, web development and administration, enterprise resource planning systems, and computer security.
The position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching; student advising activities; professional development/scholarship consistent with AACSB and ABET accreditations; and service to the Department, College, University and community. Additionally, the candidate is expected to teach 12 credit hours each semester. The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups. Doctorate in Information Systems or closely related field, or all-but-dissertation (ABD) in Information Systems or closely related field.
Doctorate in Information Systems from an AACSB or ABET-accredited institution; a record of recent refereed publications or other intellectual contributions; previous university upper-level CIS teaching experience; industry experience.
