The Senior Producer/Host holds significant control over the content and sound of the assigned programming, and is responsible for generating newscasts and feature reports for local broadcast on APR and national broadcast on National Public Radio.

Additional Department Summary:

This position serves as the producer and host of Morning Edition and plays a leadership role within Alabama Public Radio's News Department. The position assumes significant control over the content and sound of Morning Edition, the station's daily morning news program which consistently serves the largest listening audience in the APR program schedule. The position is responsible for generating newscasts and feature reports for local broadcast on APR and national broadcast on National Public Radio.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and some professional experience in journalism or a closely related communication field; OR high school diploma or GED and at at least three years of professional experience in journalism or a closely related communication field. Ability to operate relevant recording, editing, and studio equipment. 56 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 28537.56 Midpoint - $ 39956.76
