The Nursing Office Coordinator will provide administrative support and project management to the Department of Nursing. The Nursing Office Coordinator will assume a leadership role in project development and management, and operational department management. The Nursing Office Coordinator will provide front-line support for the Department Chair, faculty and department staff and students.
1. Clinical Placement Regulatory Compliance
This position will manage required student and faculty clinical regulatory compliance including document tracking. Responsible for faculty and student orientation and training, data entry, and managing electronic data bases. Collaborate with Clinical Placement Manager to ensure that all clinical facility requirements are in compliance, including ID badges. Collaborate with faculty and staff to prepare department and accreditation reports. The Nursing Office Coordinator is responsible for the accurate recording of required documents, resolving related issues and meeting all deadlines.
2. Administrative Support
The Nursing Office Coordinator must work collaboratively to establish priorities, interpret policies, and problem-solve for the Department Chair, faculty, staff, and students. The Nursing Office Coordinator must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population. This position will assist students, faculty, staff and visitors in person, via telephone, and email by interpreting department/university procedures, resolving issues or providing referrals. Must maintain confidentiality in all correspondence. The position will create and maintain forms and spreadsheets using appropriate software. Clerical responsibilities include but are not limited to answering telephones, filing, data entry, and maintaining office equipment. Manage Nursing Department calendar with weekly, monthly, semester and annual deadlines. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
3. Special projects and other duties as assigned.
1. Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Two years of full-time office experience.
3. Two years of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
1. Work experience in higher education.
2. Two years of full-time or equivalent project management experience in a professional organization.
